This policy explains how Public Forum uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage).

What we use

Essential authentication cookies. When staff members (event moderators and administrators) sign in, our authentication provider sets a session cookie so you remain signed in as you navigate the moderator dashboard. These are strictly necessary for the staff dashboard to function and cannot be disabled while remaining signed in.

Vote-tracking local storage. To prevent the same device from voting on a question more than once, we store a random identifier in your browser's local storage. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any other personal information, and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

What we do not use

We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or analytics cookies that build a profile of you across other websites.

Managing cookies and local storage

Most browsers let you view, delete, or block cookies and site data through their settings. If you clear your browser's local storage or use a different device or browser, our vote-tracking identifier will reset, meaning you may be able to vote again on a question you previously voted on from that new context. Blocking or clearing the authentication cookie will sign you out of the staff dashboard.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Platform's use of cookies and similar technologies changes. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date above.
